Shear Blade Technology was founded in 2001. It is run by father and son, Tony and Richard Eastwood. They have together over 75 years in engineering manufacture, bringing a wealth of experience and understanding to the machine knives market.
Tony is a professionally qualified chartered production engineer with a working life in the manufacture of all types of engineers cutting tools, more than 25 years of which is in machine knives. In his spare time he loves to cycle and has even instructed at local Jive dancing lessons.
Richard started out in engineering in 1989 and has worked in machine knife and shear blade manufacture since 1993. He is also an avid carp angler, competing at international events and his personal best fish is a 68lb common carp.
Their practical experience enables the correct choice of tool steel combined with the heat treatment specification required to optimise the properties for each individual application. This unique attention to tool steel specification gives Shear Blade Technology an ability to outperform less engineered alternatives.
